Ever wondered how some people just seem to smash their way through every goal they set themselves?

Hey guys. Ever wondered how some people just seem to smash their way through every goal they set themselves? Maybe you know someone who just seems to Get Things Done, no matter how hard or unlikely their plans seem? Well here’s the good news – there is absolutely no reason why you can’t be exactly like these people, and succeed in every challenge you set yourself.

The team at Wes Myron Fitness developed the Elite Performance Lifestyle plan by working closely with a lot of people who are at the top of their game, particularly in the sports industry. There’s a few traits all of these successful people have in common, and with a bit of practice you too can change your habits to set yourself up for success.

1. Get a goal!

It sounds obvious, but if you want to succeed at something, you have to be clear about exactly what that success looks like for you. Imagine what reaching your goal feels like with every sense. How do you look? How do you feel? How are you living? What are you doing? By visualizing our goals becoming real, it sets up our subconscious to tune in to how to make your dreams a reality.

2. Stick to a routine

It can be a big shift for some people to start to challenge the habits which are holding them back from achieving their goals. The key is to create a routine which works for you, and then stick to it. Being clear about exactly what you need to do each day is half the battle! Don’t give yourself the extra mental hurdle each day of trying to figure out what happens next. In some of our other blogs we talk about setting yourself up right each morning with a great morning routine – it’s SO important. Change can feel difficult at first, but whether it’s getting up a half hour earlier so you can fit in a workout, or simply just prepping your healthy breakfasts the night before, you’ll find if you discipline yourself to stick to a routine, it will very quickly become second nature instead of a chore.

3. Get organized

On that note, preparation and organization is going to be central to building a healthier lifestyle for yourself. Sure, they think a lot about what they need to achieve, but to get results, you need to be ready to put your plans into action. This is not just a one-off thing either. Truly successful people perform their actions again and again, over and over each day. It’s the little things which add up to big gains – after all, working out one time is never going to give you long term changes, but if you make it a daily habit….who knows the difference you’ll see?!

5. Stay with it

The best habit you’re going to develop if you want to totally smash your personal goals is the habit of self-discipline. There will almost certainly be times when you don’t feel like sticking to your new routines, but you know what? You can do it! Your habits have been forming your whole life, probably mostly accidentally without you even realizing it. Once you set your mind to what you want to achieve, and set the support in place to work on your goals, you will be consciously working on creating new habits – habits which are going to get you where you want to be, ultimately.
